Summary:
The Northside Baseball Academy's off-season training program is designed for those boys who wish to sharpen their skills, make adjustments in their games, and generally prepare for tryouts with a team that will play in the following Spring (like the Northside Falcons). However, that is not a requirement. Any homeschooled boy between the ages of 11-18 who wants to stay in shape or get in shape within the context of a Christian baseball environment will be well served by this two-month program.
So, if you plan to play baseball anywhere in the Spring of 2010, you don't want to miss this program of comprehensive baseball training, focusing on both skills development and physical conditioning. Specific training will be carried out for all aspects of the game itself, including pitching, hitting, fielding, baserunning and more. Conditioning work will consist of baseball-specific drills, plus strength, agility, vision and speed training.
Last, but not least, it will be fun! Here is an opportunity to improve your game in an environment where highly competitive baseball and physical discipline are balanced with Christian camaraderie and genuine brotherly love. You're gonna' love it!

Other Information:
Players should wear appropriate clothing, including baseball pants and hat, cleats (no track spikes), and appropriate protective gear. Player must provide his own glove. Players are also advised to bring tennis shoes (for certain drills), a towel, and an extra t-shirt. Players are encouraged (but not required) to bring their own bat, batting gloves and helmet, although a limited supply of bats and helmets will be on hand for general use. On that note, please be advised that sharing of helmets in a large group setting is not a generally safe practice and is therefore not endorsed by Northside Baseball Academy.
Players are strongly encouraged to bring their own water bottle or other liquid supply. We will have water coolers on hand, but they can be depleted quickly. Also, although the facility does have a water fountain, we have no way of assuring its status of operation.
Finally, please understand that parents are welcome to stick around, provided they remain outside the fence and away from other training activities. In connection, parents need to plan for drop-off and pick-up at the appropriate times. We will not be responsible for players who are not picked up at the appropriate time.

Requirements:
Each player/parent must fill out a 2009-2010 Participation Form and bring it with you the first day of training. Payment may be made in advance at that time, or you may pay from week to week.
