Seventh Annual - TEXAS STATE - HOMESCHOOL Baseball Tournament Sponsored by Northside Baseball Academy

Introduction

Get ready for baseball at its best as the Northside Baseball Academy hosts the 7th Annual Texas State Homeschool Baseball Tournament, Friday-Saturday, March 30-31, 2012, at Barton Park in Conroe, Texas. This two-day tournament represents some of the best high school baseball talent in the state (and beyond) as four teams representing Houston, San Antonio, Bryan-College Station, and Central Texas will compete for the Silver Star trophy in a two-day round-robin structure.

Purpose of Tournament

The purpose of this tournament is three-fold. It is first and foremost a time for homeschool baseball teams in Texas to gather together for a time of fun, Christian fellowship and friendly competition. Secondly, it has historically been an opportunity for Texas homeschool teams to participate in a Texas-based trophy event as they compete for the honor of taking home the "Silver Star Trophy". Finally, it is an opportunity for college and professional scouts to see a wealth of homeschool baseball talent that might otherwise go unnoticed during the course of a regular high school season. Seniors and Juniors on homeschool teams represent some of the finest baseball talent in the state, and the Texas tournament is set up to give these scouts an opportunity to see all of them in a single setting.

Participating Teams

Tournament Structure

This year's tournament will consist of round robin play only. Each team will play each of the other teams once, the champion being determined by the best record. If two teams are tied, the winner of their head-to-head game will be the champion. If three teams are tied, we will look to least runs allowed, then (if still tied) most runs scored.

Note that all of this year's games will be on the BLUE FIELD at Barton Park. For this tournament, the Home team will always occupy the first base dugout and keep the official tournament scorebook. Visiting team will occupy the third base dugout and run the scoreboard.

Game Schedule

All games will have 2:30 time limits. Unless otherwise noted, the Home team is listed first and in ALL CAPS.
